Classification

1. Classification by tooth shape: roller sprocket, toothed sprocket, silent sprocket.

Working Principle

The sprocket transmits motion and power from the driving shaft to the driven shaft through the meshing of the sprocket teeth with the inner plates of the chain. The specific process is:

1. Meshing transmission: when the driving sprocket rotates, its teeth push the inner plates of the chain, driving the chain to move; the chain then meshes with the teeth of the driven sprocket, driving the driven shaft to rotate.

2. Speed conversion: by designing sprockets with different numbers of teeth (e.g., smaller driving sprocket teeth, larger driven sprocket teeth), speed reduction and torque increase can be achieved; conversely, speed increase and torque reduction are possible.

3. Motion transmission: can achieve motion transmission between parallel shafts, intersecting shafts, and skew shafts, and can accommodate certain installation errors.
