Environmentally friendly asbestos-free brake lining is a friction material made of resin base combined with other reinforcing fibers instead of asbestos. Its characteristics are:
1. High friction coefficient, good mechanical strength, and low thermal degradation.
2. Does not contain steel wool or high-hardness friction agents, has low hardness, and does not easily damage the brake disc.
3. Asbestos-free, green and environmentally friendly.
4. Low wear and long service life.

Originally, most brake linings used in China were made of asbestos materials, but asbestos brake linings have insurmountable drawbacks:
1. Due to poor thermal conductivity of asbestos, friction heat is difficult to dissipate quickly, causing the thermal degradation layer to thicken and wear to worsen, and polluting the environment. Especially, asbestos fiber dust can cause cancer in humans;
2. High-hardness friction agents and steel wool are used to improve friction coefficient and heat dissipation performance;
3. Asbestos completely dehydrates and decomposes at 650℃--700℃, resulting in reduced strength;
4. Asbestos is prone to "thermal degradation" of friction performance.
With the increasing awareness of environmental protection and self-protection, environmentally friendly asbestos-free brake linings will eventually replace asbestos brake linings and have broad application prospects.
