This herringbone gear is forged from high-quality alloy steel (such as 20CrMo, 34CrAlNi7) and undergoes carburizing and quenching treatment. It has a high surface hardness (HRC58-62), good wear resistance, and excellent core toughness. The gear is precision machined using CNC gear honing machines, ensuring high tooth profile accuracy, smooth transmission, and low noise. The design features symmetrical herringbone teeth, where the axial forces of the teeth on both sides cancel each other out during meshing. It is suitable for high-speed (peripheral speed >30m/s), heavy-load (torque >1000kN·m) conditions and can withstand power transmission up to 20,000 kW. The gear shaft assembly is processed as a whole to ensure coaxiality between the gear and shaft, reducing transmission vibration.

Working Principle

During herringbone gear transmission, the helical gears on both sides mesh simultaneously with the corresponding gears. One side generates an axial force to the left, while the other side generates an axial force to the right. These forces are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction, canceling each other out. This cancels the axial load impact on the bearings, prolongs bearing life, and improves transmission stability, especially suitable for high-speed and heavy-load conditions.
